In January 2020, just before the world shifted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marcia and Eric met the way many love stories begin today — online.What began as a simple swipe on the Hinge dating app quickly turned into a first date neither of them wanted to end. They met for brunch on a Sunday, at BK9 Restaurant in Brooklyn at around 2:00 p.m., but saying goodbye at the end of the meal felt premature. Eric offered to walk Marcia back to her car, and a casual stop into an apparel store on the way became Marcia’s first quiet test for Eric — and an unexpected moment of discovery. He was patient, attentive, and genuinely engaged, offering opinions, picking out sizes, and making Marcia feel truly seen.After leaving the store, it was apparent that they both still weren’t ready for the date to end. Dinner and drinks followed at iPic Theaters — a dine-in movie theater in Manhattan, and even after the movie ended close to midnight, neither was ready to part ways. Eric then drove Marcia back to her car and followed behind her to her Brooklyn apartment. They sat in the car talking until nearly 4:00 a.m., unaware they were already writing the first chapter of something extraordinary.As the world slowed during the pandemic in the months that followed, their relationship only deepened. What began as an instant spark grew into a steady partnership rooted in trust, laughter, and shared purpose. Together, they navigated life’s changes with ease, finding comfort and joy in building something meaningful side by side.In 2022, they moved into their first home together — a reflection of the life they were intentionally creating. In 2024, they embraced another leap of faith, relocating to Georgia and opening a new chapter. By 2025, their journey led to an engagement and the planning of their dream wedding in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While this marks a second marriage for both, it is the chapter that feels most aligned — a love found unexpectedly, chosen intentionally, and grounded in gratitude, joy, and certainty.

THE BRIDE SQUAD

Blaine and Caelen, the bride’s beloved sons, will walk her down the aisle. They have been her greatest joy, her constant source of love, and an inspiration every day. Marcia is honored to have them by her side, giving their love and support, as she begins this beautiful new chapter in her life.

The bride met Donnette in college over 22 years ago, and they became best friends from the very first day. She has been a rock, a cheerleader, and a sister at heart, supporting Marcia through life’s ups and downs. She will stand proudly as maid of honor.

Sherry is the bride’s first niece, and their bond is incredibly special. Marcia has been like a second mother to Sherry, and watching her grow into the remarkable woman she is today has been one of Marcia's greatest joys. She is honored to have Sherry as a bridesmaid.

Tajennae shares a deep bond with the bride, especially from the time she first migrated to the U.S. from Jamaica. Marcia, as her aunt, was her support system during that transition, which only strengthened their connection. Marcia is thrilled to have Tajennae standing beside her on this very special day.

Ashley has always shared a special connection with her aunt. Their bond has grown even stronger since she migrated to the U.S. from Jamaica, as they’ve shared many meaningful moments together. The bride is delighted to have Ashley standing beside her as a bridesmaid to celebrate this very special day.

THE GENTLEMAN’S CLUB

Eric’s best friend since their college days, Dwayne has been by his side through life’s biggest moments. He’s not just a friend — he’s a brother. Together they’ve shared countless rounds of golf, good laughs over cigars, and a fair share of drinks. Their bond is built on years of friendship, loyalty, and unforgettable memories.

Eric’s first nephew, Akeem shares a special connection with his uncle. The two can often be found deep in conversation — or locked in a competitive (but friendly) game of chess. Their bond is one of mutual respect, laughter, and strategy, both on and off the board.

Eric’s namesake and someone who’s always held a special place in his heart. Growing up, Eric was like a father figure to Erik, guiding and supporting him along the way. Their relationship is filled with pride, love, and deep mutual admiration — a true reflection of family ties that last a lifetime.

Eric and Ralph met during their college years at Pace University and have remained close friends ever since. More than 20 years ago, Eric stood beside Ralph as a groomsman at his wedding, making it especially meaningful for Ralph to now return the favor. Their decades-long friendship speaks to a lasting bond built on loyalty, laughter, and shared history.

THE LITTLE VIP’S

Eric’s only granddaughter and truly the apple of his eye! Kenzie holds a special place in the groom's heart. His face lights up at the mere mention of her name, and everyone knows he can’t stop talking about her. Kenzie will have her very special moment as she walks down the aisle scattering petals, full of sweetness and sparkle!

MACKENZIE PIERRE

Joanna, the bright and friendly daughter of the bride’s niece, will be adding a touch of sweetness to the ceremony as a flower girl. She’s been crazy about the bride -  her Aunty Chenese -  since she was just a baby. With her joyful spirit and loving heart, she’s sure to charm everyone as she walks down the aisle.

Chase, Eric’s first grandchild, is thoughtful, funny, and just a little bit particular—especially when it comes to food! (He definitely gets that from Grandpa.) He’s got a big heart and a smile that melts everyone around him.

Oliver, the second grandchild, is known for his sweet personality and love for conversation. He’s always calling to check in on Grandpa, and the two share the cutest bond. His joyful spirit and curiosity brighten every moment they share.

Monday, August 10  — Arrival Day

What’s Happening: The bridal party, along with close friends and family, arrive in the destination city, and begins easing into the celebrations by getting organized for the big day. It will be a relaxed yet productive time focused on DIY projects, final touches, and getting everything in place—while enjoying good food, drinks, great company, and building excitement for the big day ahead. Tuesday, August 11 — Bachelorette Party

What’s Happening: The festivities begin! An intimate fun night of cocktails, laughter, and dancing as we kick off wedding week with the bride and her closest friends. This is a night for laughter, love, and toasting to the bride! Coverage: Hosted by the bridal party (guests cover personal expenses). Who’s Invited: Bride, bridal party, and closest friends (Invite Only).

Wednesday, August 12 — Rehearsal Dinner

What’s Happening: A special evening with the bridal party, family, and closest friends. This is a meaningful time to share stories, practice the ceremony flow, and toast to the love we’re about to celebrate. Coverage: Hosted by the Bride and Groom (dinner is self-pay). Who’s Invited: The bridal party and those playing a role in the ceremony. Attendance is required to practice the flow of the wedding, but dinner is optional — each guest may choose to enjoy a meal at their own expense (Invite Only).

Thursday, August 13 | Daytime — Bridal Shower

What’s Happening: A lavender colored, elegant Tea Party style brunch with mimosas, games and gifts honoring the bride. A sweet celebratory way to connect before the main event. Thursday, August 13 | Daytime — Bachelor Party

What’s Happening: The groom and groomsmen will kick off the bachelor celebrations with a golf day. Thursday, August 13 | Evening — Welcome Dinner

What’s Happening: Join us for a waterfront Welcome Dinner as we kick off our wedding celebrations together. To complement the setting, we invite guests to dress in all white for the evening.
